Norbert Gaisser
2007 AMF Outstanding Performance Award Winner

Tropical Western Pacific/ARM Mobile Facility Climate Research Sites

The Tropical Western Pacific/ARM Mobile Facility Management Office has selected Norbert Gaisser as the recipient of the 2007 AMF Outstanding Performance Award. His contribution was a key to a successful deployment of the ARM Mobile Facility in the Black Forest region of Germany. The nine-month deployment ended on December 31.

Norbert became part of the AMF Germany months before its official start in April 2007. A construction engineer, Norbert used his expertise to coordinate the local site development effort. Once the operation began, he helped address issues in all aspects of the AMF operation.

Born in Freudenstadt, Germany, Norbert grew up working for his father who is also an engineer. He later attended Karlsruhe Engineering University and earned a degree in construction engineering. Upon graduation in 1989, he joined his father’s engineering firm, Ingenieurbüro Gaisser.

Norbert is married with two young sons and loves to ski with his family in his spare time. He has never traveled to the United States but hopes to visit someday with his sons when they are older.
